Endometriosis is a condition in which the uterine lining (tissue) grows outside the uterus, affecting areas like the ovaries, bowel, and bladder. It is believed to impact 5-10% of women of reproductive age in the UK. However, since diagnosis can take up to 8 years, accurately estimating the number of affected women is challenging. Additionally, women are at a higher risk of developing endometriosis if their mothers, sisters, or maternal grandmothers also had the condition.

As stated by Endometriosis UK, typical symptoms are:
Pain in the pelvic area
Menstrual pain that disrupts daily activities
Excessive menstrual bleeding
Discomfort during or after sexual intercourse
Painful bowel movements
Discomfort while urinating
Difficulty conceiving – up to 70% of individuals with endometriosis can conceive naturally
Fatigue, accompanied by one or more of the aforementioned symptoms

Reproflexology Treatment for Endometriosis
As a member of the Association of Reproductive Reflexologists, I have received specialised training to assist women with Endometriosis through reproflexology. This non-invasive complementary therapy involves applying pressure to certain points on the feet and utilising specially designed treatment protocols to help manage endometriosis symptoms.
It is initially beneficial to have 6-8 weekly sessions. Following this; the most beneficial time to treat endometriosis is during the bleed, as this is when lesions are most active. During the bleed, the reproflexology session aims to clear stagnation and debris from the reproductive system, and ease any associated pain.
